50 years of experience as a master watchmaker with passion
For more than 50 years, I have been fascinated by repairing watches, calibrating, restoring, and servicing timepieces – with close attention to the tiniest details.
Even though the German daily press has in the meantime described me as “one of the best watchmakers in Germany” (Bild) or dubbed me “one of the most in demand watchmakers in the world“ (FAZ), my profession continues to revolve around the same thing: my passion for screwing together, grinding, and polishing exquisite chronometers in my workshop in Mainz.
Following my nomadic years as a young watchmaking assistant, I passed my master’s examination on March 23, 1966 at the "State watchmaking school in Hamburg" with the distinction “very good” and received a federal prize for outstanding watchmaking.
With my qualification in hand, I started focusing on the area of renowned, historic “Glashütte” pocket watches and wristwatches from the very start of my self-employment. As a result of this experience, I can now perform complicated work, e.g., on timepieces from A. Lange & Söhne, Assmann, Grossmann, Hanhart, Masterpieces of watchmaking, DUF, the pilot chronograph Urofa Caliber 59, observation watches, power reserve indicator pocket watches, and the rectangular wristwatch Urofa Caliber 58. To offer my customers something special, I extended my expertise to include military collector’s watches.
With my ample experience as a craftsman, I perform even the most complicated restoration work and also restore unusual clocks. Additionally, I offer extensive experience in manufacturing replacement parts such as balance staffs, wheels, pinions, levers, and faceted crystal glasses.
In recognition of my life’s work as a master watchmaker, I was awarded the "Golden Master Craftsman‘s Certificate" by the Hamburg Chamber of Trade in October 2016.
I vouch for all the watches that I repair or sell with a quality and guarantee promise.
